eBay Auction to Benefit Our New Server Fund

For those of you who frequent our Gallery, you’ll have noticed several recent additions courtesy tgabrielle – and we’ve only just started to process all of the wonderful stuff she’s donated to Raspberry World. She has generously consented that if we ran across any duplicates we could auction them off with the proceeds to go towards the new server fund.

What does a new server mean? Well, it means that the pages will load more quickly and the videos will play without buffering. (Or at least without as much buffering as they do now.) It means we can continue to expand our archives without worrying about space. (And you have no idea just how much we haven’t uploaded to our video and gallery sections yet – and won’t be able to until we get a server that can handle it all.) We’re always accepting donations through PayPal – the costs for keeping the site running are being covered mostly by dprisoner, who also handles all of the behind-the-scenes work to keep the site going. Goodness knows, I realize the hard times we’re all going through and it’s hard to find enough money just to keep your head mostly above water from month to month, or even day to day. If you can afford it, think about how many times you visit Raspberry World in a 30-day period of time and donate a dollar for each visit.

Spirit Day

It’s been decided. On October 20th, 2010, we will wear purple in honor of the six gay boys who committed suicide in recent weeks/months due to homophobic abuse in their homes at at their schools. Purple represents Spirit on the LGBTQ flag and that’s exactly what we’d like all of you to have with you: spirit. Please know that times will get better and that you will meet people who will love you and respect you for who you are, no matter your sexuality. Please wear purple on October 20th. Tell your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors and schools.

 

RIP Tyler Clementi, Seth Walsh, Justin Aaberg, Raymond Chase, Asher Brown and Billy Lucas.
