“Frazetta: Painting with Fire” to “Frenzy”
Frazetta: Painting with Fire (2003) This documentary gives us a glimpse of the man behind the science fiction/fantasy icon. The viewer has the unique opportunity to see Frazettas work since his stroke (and learning to paint with left hand) and hear from his numerous friends including: Forrest J. Ackerman, Simon Bisley, Dave Stevens His story is almost as amazing as his artwork. (GS)
Freaks (1932) Tod Brownings follow-up to Dracula was pulled by MGM and buried in its vaults. It is about love, vengeance, and beauty. Humans are an incredibly cruel, yet elegant animal. You knew that, but watch this and learn. (KWR)
Freeway (1996) A dark and twisted take on the tale of Little Red Riding Hood starring Reese Witherspoon and Kiefer Sutherland. Not for viewers with weak constitutions, but for those who can stomach it they are rewarded by this uncomfortable classic of the modern era. (GS)
The French Connection (1971) Gene Hackman stars as Popeye Doyle, a NYPD narcotics detective in William Friedkins Oscar-winning gritty thriller (based on a true story) that includes one of the most famous urban car chase in film history. (GS)
Frenzy (1972) Another masterfully made film from Alfred Hitchcock; intelligent, thought-provoking and, in places, very funny. It is not, I guarantee, to all tastes. But you dont necessarily have to like a film to acknowledge when there is genius at work. (KT)
