Hooray for Gilliam!
Wonderful selection this week! Especially the dark kids movies. Weirdest thing Addams Family isn’t out on DVD though Addams Family Values is. Countdown is on for the next Gilliam movie, can’t wait.
Video of the Week: Pirate Cabaret
In celebration of International Talk Like a Pirate Day we present this group of drunken pirates who take over the cabaret at Gallifrey One: Episode XIV – The Faction Paradox held in 2003. They sing perform a medley of piratical pop favorites. That’s “Doctor Who” writer Paul Cornell as the evening’s emcee.

Dance Off 2009
Ok, so Oliver Reed’s style was well..Oliver Reed ie. it seemed logical for the intense kind of character he often played. But Oh! My! God! I nearly fell off my chair when McCallum blasted off and launched into his routine!! He gets my vote for the “take no prisoners” approach to dance! Lol!
1,001 Movies – Week 3
“Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein” to “The Adventures of Baron Munchausen”
Dance off
Gees, can’t tell much about Oliver Reed’s dancing. Gotta give points to McCallum for the strange knee drop bit – it’s unique if nothing else!

400 Blows
400 Blows is amazing. Truffaut made several other Antoine Doinel movies with the same actor at various stages of his life: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antoine_Doinel I’ve seen Bed & Board and Stolen Kisses. They’re not as intense, a different style: sophisticated, knowing, slightly rueful, very French 🙂 I liked them. The only other one of the 5 I’ve seen is 7 Faces of Dr. Lao, and who doesn’t like that!
Oh Dear
I haven’t seen any of them I feel so un-cultured.
