Welcome to the New Raspberry World
Thank you to all of you patient visitors, while the remodeling was going on. Our webmaster took the opportunity to change over the site when the old gallery system failed, and moved both the gallery and the rest of the site content over to new systems.
We hope you continue to enjoy Raspberry World and all it has to offer.
Thank you, and come back soon.
Video of the Week: Stargate Atlantis – Stress
Hands! Rodney McKay’s beautiful, expressive hands! This is a marvelous tribute to our favorite snarky scientist. I can’t hear this song without thinking about Rodney; it’s almost as if it were written just for him. Rache & Sandy (aka Clucking Belles aka Media Cannibals) don’t have their videos uploaded on YouTube or Vimeo so if you weren’t lucky enough to see them in a convention video room or don’t have a membership to Vidders.net you probably haven’t seen their collection of fantastic work. Winner of the 2006 Stargate Fan Award for Best Video: Character (McKay) and the 2006 Stargate Music Video Award (McKay), hands down, if you’ll pardon the pun, this is one of my all-time favorite videos in any fandom.
Video of the Week: Sherlock – The Consulting Detective
A well considered selection of clips, brilliant sound editing, fantastic video effects, precise cuts and the Glitch Mob remix of White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army” that will make your pulse pound are all combined into one minute and forty-one seconds of vidding perfection.
Video of the Week: Person of Interest – Save You From Yourself
This is a stunning Person of Interest fan video. I’m a little biased because I’m a total fan of the artist who created it, but I’m sure after watching it you’ll be in complete agreement with me. Now begins the countdown to 27 September 2012 and the premiere of season two!
Video of the Week: MST3K – We Put Our Faith In Blast Hardcheese
This episode never fails to crack me up. All the names they come up with for the guy… Big McLarge Huge! The wonderful thing about this fan video is that it wonderfully encapsulates just how awful the movie is and just how brilliant Mike and the Bots are. Enjoy!
Video of the Week: Sherlock/House/Fortysomething – Cat’s in the Cradle
Before Hugh Laurie played House and before Benedict Cumberbatch played Sherlock, they co-starred in a BBC series entitled Fortysomething. This is a wonderful fan video that melds all three into a seamless story using Harry Chapin’s classic song as its narration. It’ll blow your mind.
Video of the Week: The King’s Speech – I Have a Voice
Not all fan videos use a songs lyrics to tell their story. For example, in this gorgeous fan video by lolilie, she does a remarkable job of using choice cuts of dialogue from the movie coupled with an evocative piece of orchestral music by Philip Glass (from the movie “The Hours”) to build to an emotional crescendo. Quite simply, this is a brilliant piece of work. I was in tears before it was over. Simply stunning.
Video of the Week: Doctor Who – One (to Eleven)
A spectacular Doctor Who video from one of my all-time favorite fan vidders, thebigbluemeany. Click play, sit back and enjoy.
